    Hey Chantal,

your photos are very pleasing to my eyes and they take me on a trip — because i’m seeing people from other parts of the world, some in their own environments. they capture personality and character and create interest in the people, making me want to know more about them. so i have to use my imagination. and that’s what i find enjoyable about looking at them.

i love the photo of ‘Biggie’ Jamal. his environment is beautiful (to me). and i love the shadow of the chandelier. he looks so confident. and the colors are very warm. it’s a very lush environment and you captured it well with the angle you photographed it from.

Javid’s environment is amazingly neat and clean for a guy. to me, he appears a little downhearted. but it looks like he’s pretty well hooked up with electronics and a crib, so he has a lot to be thankful for. but maybe life has been a struggle for him.

it makes so much sense that you build your portfolio around the work that you do to counsel refugees. it seems like that’s where your heart is, in helping them. so you must have a lot of insight into their spirits. keep it up. your portraits are beautiful. i find them soft, yet very clear and direct.
